小年大年，同样非凡

Being known as the Festival of the Kitchen God, Xiaonian (Little New Year) has been stepping around you and me.

Chinese Little New Year

小年，又称祭灶日。这一天，人们都要给灶王爷供送糖果等，以祈求平安。各地习俗不一，例如：扫尘土，人们从这天开始给家庭进行年终大扫除，除旧迎新。另外还有吃灶糖，洗浴，准备婚嫁等。还有一项，那就是人们开始忙忙碌碌地而又欢天喜地购买年货。大部分家庭开始计划“回老家”，与家人共同欢度春节。所以，便形成了中国特有的新年人口“大迁徙”。

Having a few names, Xiaonian starts the countdown to the Chinese New Year. With different practice and customs that pray for peace and health, it is such a kind of festival when people will sacritice sweets and suge to the kichen God. In addition to this, there are other cutoms and activities such as cleaning the house, eating Guandong candy, pasting paper cuttings on windows and washing body and cutting hair and so on. What's more, people begin being busy with cheerfully shopping for the festival. Most families are planning to go back hometown to celebrate the most important days with their families and relatives, which comes into being a "Grand population immigration".
